The BIO

Jason was born August 20, 1982 in Fullerton California. Not much exciting happened in his life. Sure he has had his fair share of ups and downs, but who has not.

His music career started early, but not the greatest. His first instrument was a recorder that he played and took lessons for in third grade. Nothing spectacular came out of that evil piece of molded plastic. Except maybe "Hot Cross Buns"; still a damn fun tune to hear.

In 6th grade Jason went out for jazz band. He was looking to play some drums, but during the rhythm test, the bastard teacher told him he had no rhythm, and was better playing a brass instrument. He did not take that too well and shrugged it off. Actually, it was more than a shrug, more like a slam of the door telling the teacher to go shove a tuba up his ass.

5 years later he picked up a guitar and told himself he would not take a single lesson, and vowed to be the best that he could be at guitar on his own.

The first song learned was Metallica's "Master Of Puppets". Of course, he did not get it right off the bat, and the solos were the devil.

Putting that song aside, he dicked around on his roommates guitar, an Ovation acoustic. Everyday he played, no matter how shitty it sounded, putting everything he had into it.

This continued to build his skill, arms and fingers. Now, at the age of 20, he is better than when he first started, and is able to play "Master Of Puppets" perfect, if not, almost.

Now, he resides in Irvine, California. His roommates rarely yell at him for cranking up the amp.

Interview

  1. Q: Who are you influences and why?

  2. A: Disturbed, Malmsteen and Metallica, because they rock.

  3. Q: Why the particular style of music?

  4. A: Well, I've always been partial to a deep thick crunchy sound. Something that's just so fleshy you wanna sink your teeth into. (chuckles)

  5. Q: Tell us about the music you write.

  6. A: Mm-hm, well, the music I write is all based off experience. Something I can relate to the listener to help them understand.
