Dark Half

The man next door
Has a picket fence
And a house that is painted blue
His grass is cut
The trees are trimmed
And the garden is in full bloom
Inside the house
Things are neat as can be
Even the tables have been dusted clean
The kitchen shines
The dog is fed
It was the perfect scene
(chorus)
When darkness falls
On a Friday night
He murders.. He rapes
He causes plight
If you see his face
In the shadows cast
Run, if you wish your life to last
On Sunday morning
You see her at mass
She wears a dress and a perfect smile
Her hair is permed
Her eyes are soft
And she smells sweet as a rose
The very next day
She shows at work
Drops a kind smile to her co-workers
She works hard
Doesn't break a sweat
Then she heads home to bake dinner for the kids
(chorus)
When darkness falls
On a Saturday night
She murders.. She consumes
She causes plight
When you see her playing on a bed
The last thing you see
Is her seductive smile before you're dead
These are the people
We see most
Could be you.. Could be him
Could be anyone close
This was a story
Just to show
These people may not
Be who you really know
